Momentum Launches Software Escrow Service for Members
Momentum has negotiated an arrangement with Intellect to offer their escrow service at a highly discounted rate to Momentum members.
Intellect, the UK trade association for the IT, telecoms and electronics industries has been offering software escrow services to its members for over 30 years. The service incorporates Source Code Validation and a new Copyright Deposit scheme for customers wishing to protect their intellectual property from infringement claims into its range of services.

About the Intellect Software Escrow Service
Intellect Enterprises Software Escrow, Source Code Validation and Copyright Deposit Service;
- Is delivered by Intellect Enterprises, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intellect with over 30 years experience of acting as a custodian for critical assets,
- Is underpinned with innovative and water-tight contracts prepared by legal advisors, Beachcroft LLP,
- Offers validation services through testing partner SQS Group, SQS is the largest independent provider of software testing and quality management services worldwide.
The service offers Software Owners and End Users the facility to protect software applications in the event of the supplier being unable to maintain their customers under their support and maintenance contracts.
There are various triggers for release and licence rights after release (which can be incorporated into agreements easily using the Flexible Terms of Business option) however; the majority of customers wish to protect themselves against the supplier becoming insolvent and wish to obtain a licence that allows the end-user to maintain the software application for the duration of the original licence. This is covered by the Insolvency Terms of Business and forms our standard service.
Customers are also able to tailor their specific requirements by using our bespoke service for which the fees are agreed after obtaining a quote for the legal work from our lawyer partner.
