Career Connections 2008-09
Momentum delivered a pilot programme during 2008/2009 to develop effective partnerships between companies in the ICT industry and secondary schools in Northern Ireland for the benefit of all.
A selection of schools were invited to take part and Momentum member companies were asked to join in so they could be linked to a school or schools to host two elements offered within the Career Connections pilot programme. These elements were based on a model developed by FOSEC in the North West. Following meetings with the teachers and companies involved the planned format was altered to fit with what was practical for each school and company and activities arranged through the pilot programme were tailored accordingly.
Bring IT On – Career Connections
The Career Connections pilot programme was delivered to enhance the other activities being carried out by Momentum under the Bring IT On campaign. Throughout the Career Connections pilot programme the Bring IT On campaign was highlighted by the use of promotional branding and videos, several news stories and pictures were featured in national and local publications. The Bring IT On website was also promoted as a resource to ICT and Careers teachers and pupils.
